Module 2: Safety in National & State Curriculum in STEM Education
Module Overview: In the second module we will be exploring state and national curriculum standards in more detail as we begin creating our STEM activities. We will also be introducing the (STEM)2 framework for lesson planning and development. (STEM)2 stands combines STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with planning areas (Society, Transformative, Exceptional, and Multicultutural) for inclusive lesson design. In addition to the (STEM)2 framework, we will be analyzing the benefits of cross-disciplinary and thematic learning for K-8 students and identifying strategies for teaching STEM across the curriculum. Finally, we will be exploring practical chemistry for K-8 students. Module Objectives:
